A penny

(from an email ...)

Several years ago, a friend of mine and her husband were invited to spend the weekend at the home of her husband's employer.
My friend, Arlene, was nervous about the weekend. The boss was very wealthy, with a fine home on the waterway, and cars costing more than her house..

The first day and evening went well, and Arlene was delighted to have this rare glimpse into how the very wealthy live. Her husband's employer was quite generous as a host, and took them to the finest restaurants. Arlene knew she would never have the opportunity to indulge in this kind of extravagance again, so was enjoying herself immensely.

As the three of them were about to enter an exclusive restaurant one evening, the boss was walking slightly ahead of Arlene and her husband.
He stopped suddenly, looking down on the pavement for a long, silent moment.
Arlene wondered if she was supposed to pass him. There was nothing on the ground except a single darkened penny that someone had dropped, and a few cigarette butts. Still silent, the man reached down and picked up the penny.
He held it up and smiled, then put it in his pocket as if he had found a great treasure.
How absurd! What need did this man have for a single penny? Why would he even take the time to stop and pick it up?

Throughout dinner, the entire scene nagged at her. Finally, she could stand it no longer. She casually mentioned that her daughter once had a coin collection, and asked if the penny he had found had been of some value.

A smile crept across the man's face as he reached into his pocket for the penny and held it out for her to see. She had seen many pennies before! What was the point of this?

"Look at it," he said. "Read what it says."
She read the words, " United States of America .."

"No, not that. Read further."

"One cent?"
"No, keep reading."

"In God we Trust?"
"Yes!"
"And?. . ."

"And if I trust in God, the name of God is holy, even on a coin. Whenever I find a coin, I see that inscription. It is written on every single United States coin, but we never seem to notice it! God drops a message right in front of me telling me to trust Him. Who am I to pass it by? When I see a coin, I pray. I stop to see if my trust IS in God at that moment. I pick the coin up as a response to God; that I do trust in Him. For a short time, at least, I cherish it as if it were gold. I think it is God's way of starting a conversation with me. Lucky for me, God is patient and pennies are plentiful!"

When I was out shopping today, I found a penny on the sidewalk. I stopped and picked it up, and realized that I had been worrying and fretting in my mind about things I cannot change. I read the words, "In God We Trust," and had to laugh. "Yes, God, I get the message!"

It seems that I have been finding an inordinate number of pennies in the last few months, but then, pennies are plentiful! And, God is patient.

Thought for the Day:

If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it.

If He had a wallet, your photo would be in it.

He sends you flowers every spring.

He sends you a sunrise every morning.
Face it, friend - He is crazy about you!

Send this to every beautiful person you wish to bless.

God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way.

Read this line very slowly and let it sink in.

If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.

A lil' bout me

I thought this would be fast.. But after doing this I realized its not.

Who is she??
Rachel (In Hebrew: Innocence of Lamb)
吉珍 (In Chinese: Lucky Treasure)
Child of God
The eldest daughter born from (though imperfect but) awesome and loving parents
The Jie Jie to her 2 talented sisters and 1 super adorable brother

What about her??
+ Loves God with all her heart, soul and mind
+ Dreaming she be held in God's arms every sec
+ Wanting to serve God all through her days, hrs n min (but is a student.. for now)
+ Has wonderful families at home, church, college (CF), etc
+ Passionate for the youth because she believe they can be revolutionist
+ Loves kids, animals, youth, cute and cuddly stuff, etc
+ Can have drastic mood swings (learning to make it better)
+ Either overly serious or overly playful (Nid Balance!!)
+ Not a on-stage person but back-stage person
+ Not very good with transferring the message across sometimes
+ Must have a balance of silence and noise

Err.. Thats all I can think of for nw. To know more, talk to me online or find me at Glow United ba =P.

5 things I'll fall for in a guy:
~ Loves God with all his heart, soul and mind
~ Respects and loves me for who I am =D
~ Active and not passive attitude yet humble
~ Loves kids and respects ppl elder & younger than him
~ Independent, knowledgeable, wise... (good character)

These are my main points, I guess (unless miss out something). Hm.. I think my standard a bit high XD.

Last but not least, 10 things BEFORE 30:
  1. Graduate studies
  2. Got a steady job (To support family and parents, I have a feeling I might nid to support my brother's education too >.<)
  3. Steadily serving Him (fully - if He calls me to)
  4. Get a lover
  5. Married happily
  6. Own a house
  7. Has kids (I don't wanna be too old to have kids, later susah)
  8. Make an impact on the youth
  9. Achieve all my mom's recipes (if possible, her cooking is awesome and must not be forgotten ^.^)!!
  10. Taking my family (prob parents too) overseas for holiday at least once

Its almost in order coz it was easier to think tht way @.@, but who knows what God might change.

3 Most important decisions....(Millicent)

*Bf vs God.... i've always had things my way. preferred it over God's. However,  i realized that my ways have limits and  just cant get me where and what i want. Only then i looked up to God to say  'Father please help here, i need some strength to continue the fight'  Of course with God its either Him or the World. My Bf (now ex) had always been my world. He really meant the whole world to me then,  and  I couldnt imagine anything worth living for, past our rltnshp. deep down i knew the rltshp robbed me of my passion for God. I had to reprioritize, put God first and just delete the rltnshp from the list. Just as simple as this, but it hasnt been easy at all. Finally after over a year i was bold enough to say.."look, i'm letting go of us so that i can live for God' (i thought, you know if its true love it will survive this test) Ever since, i feel like a conqueror! My time will come, i'll have a bf/fiancee when time's right.
Seek God 1st, and make Him the foundation of your relationships. Or invite Him into the messes of your life and let Him take over.

*Completely surrendering my life to God. ( as in Romans 12, preferably NLT version) i've overcome the fear of any challenges and hardships that might come my way as a result of living for God.  2Timothy3:12 , in NKJV was discouraging at first but now i've made up my mind, the trouble will be worth double blessings!

*I feel so light now, i'm an overcomer! With God by my side, my career path will be straightened and i'll marry the right man at the right time. yes, seek God and you will be assured of this. All i needed was God. and in short my 3 biggest decisions were 1) letting go of all that distanced me from God, then 2.)actually committing myself to serving God and 3.)staying true to the person He has made me be.

Halleluyah! I love God. He's amazing, beyond what any diction in this world can explain. He will fill that space in You, and through Him you will have peace and joy. God Bless y'all. I pray that He will touch you too like He touched me, and even better. in Jesus' name, Amen.

5 things i fall for  in a guy( not in any order)

2. love God & me too=)
3.  should be good to look at (handsome)
4. fun and adventurous...should like travelling
5. confident

10 b430
1. get married
2. get a motor bike license and own a harley davidson bike
3. race someone on the fast lane, F1
4. drastic hairdo! maybe go bold.
5. full time minister of Gospel, touching lives, bringing hope, healing.....
i want to have all gifts of the Holy spirit, oh, even prophesy.
6. kids too, the sooner the better, dont wanna look like a granny to my own kids
7. play a guitar/drums...perfectly
8.own a chain of  boutiques for women lingerie and accesories.

DanLo's 3 Biggest Decision in life

Dear All,

In Every Season of our lives. As we grow, whether you like it or not. We some how will make decision. Decision to follow Jesus whole heartedly, trust in Him, surrender everything back to Him, turn away from wicked sins, what course to study, which uni to enroll, career paths, yes or no to the boy/gal, and etc.

If you determine to be obedient to God, honor him in every decision you make, I am glad for you. God will not shortage you. IF only we know and so clear of what he wants us to do, where to go and which DECISION TO MAKE.

HOWEVER, the journey in our lives is not as easy as we think, it has been so challanging for me. Especially when we are at the crossroad and God is silent.

After all, I know that God is telling me "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," declares the LORD (Jeremiah 29:11-14)

I remember that last year, I listened to John C Maxwell was talking about Managing Decisions. Some of the highlights in his talk was

The Secret of your successes are determined by your daily agenda.
The Secret of your successes are determined by what you do today .

Successful people make important decisions early of their life and they manage their decisions the rest of their life.

Making decisions is overrated, managing decisions is underrated.

Let's hear more from HIM! He is a good mentor. Christian leader and Business Man!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Vl92wsQeWU [corrected]

I truly think it is very significant for you and I even at this age to make Godly decision that honor Him with our lives in every decision that we make in every stage of our life and manage them well. So that we can be successful in our marriage, career, to be good parents, in serving God, and more importantly the successful child of God in God's eyes.

There is a saying, the decisions that you made in the 1st half of your life will most influence/impacted of what your 2nd half of your life would be. Therefore, Make It Wise.

My Three Biggest Decisions in my life are
  1. Confess my feeling to the girl that I would like to spend my life with.
  2. Confess all my hidden sins to my mentor. I mean ALL! ALL!!
  3. Choose to Trust the person when no one trust. (not by sight, by faith)

God Bless.

Love,
DanLo
