My 2008

2008 isn't what I expected it to be.

Actually I didn't have much expectations for 2008 except for one which was the joy of bumming around for 6-7 months!
However that joy was short-lived (only lasted about a month or so).

But lately, I've been seeing so much and learning so much. My days feel shorter. Even the mundane tasks are making the time tick by faster than usual.
Without expecting anything. God gave me something I could only dream of. But what He gave exceeded my dreams.
Everyday is like Christmas day or my birthday. Because everyday is a gift surprising me in different ways.

This year has been a year of learning.

And to sum it all up...

I am learning to love.

that is my 2008.

And I am excited to see what God has in store for me in 2009!

Note : Thank you Glow United for making me feel at home. A moment with you guys is never dull but full of laughter and learning. Thank you for making my 2008 what it is today. You guys are awesome! :D

PS: since nobody start... I shall set the pace for everyone. Now get off your butts and start your writing! :P

God is God - Steven Curtis Chapman

And the pain falls like a curtain
On the things I once called certain
And I have to say the words I fear the most
I just don’t know

And the questions without answers
Come and paralyze the dancer
So I stand here on the stage afraid to move
Afraid to fall, oh, but fall I must
On this truth that my life has been formed from the dust

God is God and I am not
I can only see a part of the picture He’s painting
God is God and I am man
So I’ll never understand it all
For only God is God

And the sky begins to thunder
And I’m filled with awe and wonder
‘Til the only burning question that remains
Is who am I

Can I form a single mountain
Take the stars in hand and count them
Can I even take a breath without God giving it to me
He is first and last before all that has been
Beyond all that will pass

[chorus]

Oh, how great are the riches of His wisdom and knowledge
How unsearchable for to Him and through Him and from Him are all things

So let us worship before the throne
Of the One who is worthy of worship alone

[chorus]

Once upon a time,
there lived a handsome man named Tzyy Jeng!!
He had always longed to get married to a princess.
And so, he made GRAND PLANS to carry out his scheme.
Then out of no where . . .

I saw a monkey dating with the pig
Then I bumped into Jay Chow!
And to my surprise, he started dancing.
And then the Apostle DANLO came!
And he ask God when his right woman will appear
Then . . . Jeng Jeng Jeng!!
An angel appeared before him.
And said to him, 'ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?!'
He reply: "I don't think so"

And I feel very angry
cuz everyone says that I dont look like Jay Chow!
haha its true you don't - huh?
And Jesus wept, - THE END -

Hello Glowers.

I'm back in Birmingham already - as most of you would already know. Just wanted to say that I've really enjoyed my time spent with you guys - even though it wasn't for very long. Heehee.

Also thanks for those who came for my little birthday thing. It was the sweetest thing ever. :)

Miss you guys already!

One more teeny tiny request - since I'm here already. I have a couple of exams coming up at the end of this week - Thursday and Friday - upon which my entire medical uni life depends. So, prayers will be ever so GREATLY appreciated.

After Passion World Tour

Passion World Tour in KL is over but we still got job to do, to follow up with our invited friends and continue to do God's will, with fire!

Let not this be another happening event, let's continue to move on with what we gained from the conference. Let's:

1. Continue to shine/glow to your family, friends and peers.
2. Continue to seek His presence and heart
3. As bro & sis in Christ, continue to encourage for each other so our fire will never go out

Who I am and Who shall he be?

Ok. I had this saved for almost two weeks already. SORRRRYY!

After constant "naggings" and well, the strike of guilty conscience for prolonging my "promise" for super long, I have decided to finally think bout what to write. Yet, I don't know what. hehe =P anyway, here it is.

The I Am:
  • An introvert(ed) extrovert.
  • Night person with short sleeping hours. (Anybody needs a late night chat? )
  • On the contrary to what most people think. I'm NO more a teen. Just passed only.. Haha
  • Always forgetting to say a lot of things and only remember after I’m done. i.e. when I’m sharing/praying or something. I’ve got something super chim/important or so to say.. but leaves half of them out when I’m actually sharing. Which is why, a lot of times, what I say does not entirely make sense or have connection to the topic. (So, sorry if I do erm, not make sense. Heheh). Also why I prefer to write rather than talk.
  • I can be quite blatant with my words.. Esp, when I’ve passed my limit of patience. So, you’d better not make me angry. XD
  • I’m extremely fickle minded. (Explains why I don’t like making suggestions)
I think that’s enough. Haha. So, you'll just have to try and get to know the me me, yourself.

The 5 of the few attributes he should have :
  1. Has to carry himself with self esteem and confidence yet humble. Knowing when to be serious and playful in given situations.
  2. Intellectual who challenges my thoughts and brings me up to another level. Spiritually, mentally and on other matters of concern. (i.e. bringing out the best in me, yet “minimizing” the bad)
  3. One who can see through me even when I’m covering up. Someone whom I’m comfortable with (to the extent where if there’s silence, it’s not awkward) and able to know who I am rather than what I appear to be enabling me to be myself (hence, I'd actually be super talkative.. Hehe)
  4. A caring, compassionate and loving heart for people and animals. And has a good relationship with his family and will be able to “tahan” my family and my stupid random-ness =P
  5. Outgoing, spontaneously random with a musical talent as a plus point who makes me just smile (not meaning the entertaining way).
If you’re wondering why I didn’t put a man of God. Cause it’s a non-negotiable. So cannot be compromised. The above, well, can tweak a bit lah ;)

OK. I know it’s actually more than 5.. But they’re co-related.. :P
It’s still not right. But I’d better put something up before some people make more noise. Haha

And yes, I know it looks and is very cheong hei :)
But you see. The longer you wait, the longer it is.. and the less for me to write next (in a very long) time. ahaha

Minor Changes

Me & TJ has made some minor changes to this blog:

  • Notice the more metalic-feel GLOW in the header?
  • Wider width in the content & sidebar portion (to fit the size of biblegateway)
  • Most obvious changes - the chatbox! Changed it to match the color of biblegateway, but if u prefer the previous shiningly-glowingly-bright yellow, we still can change it back. Also if you want those old messages to appear again, we can do it too! Just need to know who's the 1 who put up the old chatbox last time :)
  • Moved the blog counter located at the bottom to blog stat section (so now we got 2 counters there), we don't need to 2 counters, so which 1 you all prefer?
  • Now if you mouse over a clickable picture, the border will highlight itself.
  • NEW @ SIDEBAR: This Week's Cell Schedule! Super informative !!!
Hope you guys love the changes hahaha.

p/s: Now that we got a nice blog, so start posting your entries !!

Be United and Accountable with each other as One Flock

John 10:10

10The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

John 10:11-16

Jesus said: 11"I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12The hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. 13The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.

14"I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.

What an inspirational clip that I bumped into while I was researching the Burma tragedies on youtube.

When I was watching it again and again. God is reminding me

  1. The battle is REAL. The devil comes only to steal, kill and destroy. How important is to be accountable with each other as a cell group. Keeping each other in prayer, grow together in the word of God that empower us against the evil one.

  2. Every battle belongs to God. It's matter to God. Help those who are lost, walking alone and pray for them, and journey with them till they conquer the battles as Jesus cares for them.

John 10:16I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also.

  3. Above all, Jesus is a good shepherd he will never leave us nor forsake his sheep but will be with us and goes before us.
The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." Deuteronomy 31:8

DanLo

How to Have a Meaningful Quiet Time ( by: Adrian Rogers)

“Oh how love I Thy law! it is my meditation all the day.” Psalm 119:97

Christianity is not a legal relationship, it is a love relationship. Ten thousand “don'ts” will never make you one iota more like the Lord Jesus Christ. It is Jesus Himself Who makes you like Him. But you need to spend time with Him. I want to give you five factors for spending some quiet time with Him each day.

The Proper Period
You must find the right time. Your quiet time should last at least half an hour. But some time is better than no time, so if you can’t start at thirty minutes, begin with ten. It should be your very best time. Don't give the Lord your leftovers. And don't try to find time — make time, and make it a priority. Also find time early in the day. Psalm 5:3 says, “… in the morning will I direct my prayer unto Thee, and will look up.” You don't take the trip and then read the map, do you? Spend time alone with God to begin your day.

The Proper Preparation
A quiet time is fellowship with a holy God. There are a few things you can do to be prepared for this time. First, be physically alert. Find a time when the cobwebs are out of your mind and you can think clearly. Second, be mentally aware. Be focused, and know He’s there. Emotion doesn't really have all that much to do with it. And third, be morally pure and clean. Some people don't have a quiet time because they feel uncomfortable looking God in the face with sin in their lives.

The Proper Place
Find a place where you can focus. Jesus said enter into your closet and pray (see Matthew 6:6). That simply means find a place of isolation where you can shut the door on the world and open the windows to heaven. Jesus sought out places where He could be alone, and so should you.

The Proper Provisions
In order to have an effective quiet time, you need the right tools. Here are some tools I use:
Readable Bible - Invest in one with plenty of room to jot notes in the margins.
Prayer journal - Expect God to give you something & write it down. Also use it to record things you’re praying about.
Notepad - Write down your daily assignments.

The Proper Procedure
Finally, may I recommend some procedures to follow in your quiet time?

Get still & quiet. The Bible says in Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God.” Focus your mind on Him. Calm down, relax, and recognize His presence. Take a deep breath and focus your thoughts on the Lord.

Get into the Word of God. It's better to start by reading the Bible than it is to start in prayer. It is more important for you to hear from God, even than for God to hear from you. God already knows all about you, but you need to know a lot more about Him.

Read the Bible for quality and not quantity. It’s good to have a goal to read the Bible through in a year, or a similar goal; but that's not the purpose of your quiet time. Also, devotional books are wonderful. But again, this is not the place for them. This is the time when you simply read the Bible with an open mind.

Meditate. As you focus on the Word of God and meditate, let it permeate you. Ask:
Is there a command to obey?
Is there a promise to claim?
Is there a sin to avoid?
Is there a lesson to learn?
Is there a new truth to carry with me?

Record what God has given you. Write down what God says to you and what He tells you to do. It doesn't have to be flowery. You're not writing it for publication or to impress other people.

Now you're ready to pray. When you pray, pour out your soul. Be natural and honest with God. Tell Him how you feel. Pray out loud. It keeps your mind on track and enables you to stay focused.

Begin to share out of your quiet time. God did not make us to be reservoirs; He made us to be conduits. Tell others what is God is showing you.

Finally, obey what God tells you. Your spiritual train is running on two rails. One is revelation and the other is obedience. And if either rail stops, your train stops. Learn to obey the Word of God.

I pray these simple suggestions will help you have a daily quiet time in the presence of our loving, almighty, powerful God.

Refiner's Fire

Malachi 3:3 says: "He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver."

This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God.

One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study.

That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining Silver.

As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest so as to burn away all the impurities.

The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says: "He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver." She asked the silversmith if it was true that He had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined.

The man answered that He not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed.

The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, "How do you know when the silver is fully refined?"

He smiled at her and answered,

"Oh, that's easy," "When I see my image in it."

If today you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God has his eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you.

This very moment, someone needs to know that God is watching over them. And, whatever they're going through, they'll be a better person in the end.

"Life is a coin. You can spend it any way you wish, but you can only spend it once."

Unfailing Love by Chris Tomlin

You have my heart
And I am yours forever
You are my strength
God of grace and power

And everything
You hold in Your hand
Still You make time for me
I can't understand

Praise You, God of earth and sky
How beautiful is Your unfailing love
Unfailing love
And You never change, God, You remain
The Holy One and my unfailing love
Unfailing love

You are my rock
The One I hold on to
You are my song
And I sing for You

And everything
You hold in Your hand
Still You make time for me
I can't understand

Praise You, God of earth and sky
How beautiful is Your unfailing love
Unfailing love
And You never change, God, You remain
The Holy One and my unfailing love
Unfailing love

And everything (everything)
You hold in Your hand
And still You make time for me
I can't understand (can't understand still)

Praise You, God of earth and sky
How beautiful is Your unfailing love
Unfailing love
And You never change, God, You remain
The Holy one and my unfailing love
Unfailing love
(I will praise You)

Note:
I definitely feel that this lyrics is worth to be posted.
We should be thankful for His unfailing love..
