echobrainproject

Merlvyn Kho Yueh Yang. 1 March 1987, remember that date. Pure chinese, I am sure, stop trying to convince me otherwise. Kuching boy.

5 things I'll fall for in a girl:
1. Spiritual maturity
Sometimes dating a christian just is not enough. She need not be better than I am, or the same level, but just not too far. Technically it would be fine, but if both are levels are too far apart it can be quite hard. An example would be if she is a on off church goer, and I on the other hand is at church at times 6 days a week (which does happen) all fired up, I dont see things going smoothly.
2. Independent, secure and up for adventures!
I'd like an independent girl who can do well on her own, initiate things on her own. Also a girl who is secure with herself and not too clingy. God made the earth like a big playground, with lots of challenges (be it outdoor challenges or other challenges in our daily life) so let's take it on and go for this adventure!
3. Smart + good artistic taste
Having intellectual discussions on science, politics, technology is sexy! Also able to give opinions (give, not necessarily share the same opinion) on art work, music and creativity.
4. Lady like
I'd fall for a girl who can carry herself well, the way she speaks, her posture, dress decently with a good fashion sense. I do not mean designer brands, its just simple things like color matching, clothes that compliments her body shape, etc. [note to girls: guys these days are well informed, we do know when your shoes dont match your top]
5. Hygiene
This will sound sexist: girls that are unhygienic are no way attractive, but guys can get away with it!

10 things BEFORE 30:
1. Get my degree in mechanical engineering so I can make my parents proud, and hence, pass them that piece of paper so I can go chase number 2 (read below)
2. Make my childhood dream of being an audio engineer and owning my own production studio a reality. Made the decision when I was 13, and had numerous fights with parents because they never agreed.
3. Maybe play in a few more albums. Still havent worked on something I can say I am truly proud of.
4. Take 1 year off, mission work.
5. I have a notebook with sketches of some ideas of inventions. Hopefully at least one does make it to production.
6. Write a book. Have a few ideas lying around, but never put the effort to start working on them.
7. Attend concerts. There are still some bands I need to catch them live, before I get too old for metal.
8. Bungee jump, skydiving. adrenaline is good yo!
9. Fall in love, get into a relationship, marry her. The whole love story thing. I believe dreams can come true.
10. Gain weight and look healthy and not this pathetic skinny ugly state I am currently in.

My Three Biggest Decision (that I have made)
1. Dedicate my life to God
Comes with alot of challenges and had to let go alot of things I hold onto in my life (but didnt Jesus already warned us that). Not easy, but so far its still the right choice.
2. Take a go, even when I know there's a high chance of me failing.
I made the decision to chase some of my dreams, even though people tell me I will fail, and I myself know that I have a high chance of failing, and there are people who mean alot to me who will say "there I told you so!" the moment I fail. I'd still take a go. I've had a fair share of failures, but sometimes, I made dreams come true. Examples range from me playing guitar to me turning down ASEAN scholarship to me going for the wrong girl.
3. Quit all the rubbish I was doing. (during my early high school days)
Quit bad habits like smoking and distancing from a group of people who were not good influences.

DISC night!

Candid photos during the DISC night.

Isaiah the Perfectionist, tilting his head to 3.01 degrees anticlockwise from the y axis and 4.76 degrees clockwise from the x axis. XD

DanLo the Organiser. Wondering how to file his results properly.
"should I file this under personal's, cell or misc??"

Lee HanRick the Individualist. ... I have no idea what he does. He's. Unique.

Millie the Individualist as well, doing what Individualist do, with her Investigator TJ and Organiser Nicholas.

TJ the Investigator checking up the latest case on his Iphone 3GS.

To his right, Strategist Mitch in his calculative stance while

Adviser Mel is wondering how to tell her patient he only has 2 days left to live and she is 47 hours late in letting him know.

Jolin the cold Persuader. That is the coolest personality type around. She easily manipulates people to her belief with as much effort as a hot knife cutting through butter.

Then there's another Individualist by the name of Wenly.
(Seriously, we have so many Individualist they should be called Communalist)

And finally there's a Motivator named Stephanie.
(Gosh look at her! So garang. People will surely be motivated not to get on her bad side.)

Gwen, the Cooperator who got persuaded by Jolin to adopt the same style.

Suresh the Specialist with another Individualist! Weng Hong.

Adrian, another Specialist. You can see what he Specialises in. GHOSTBUSTING!!! =D

And lastly,(actually not last but I could not take any more photos cause I got lazy to turn to capture images of people sitting behind me) Rachel, who is an INVESTIGATOR together with Tzy----

DISC night!

On the 6th of November members of the GlowUnited cell had a DISC personality test =D

ps. please do click on the images to view them better. These were taken by a camera and not scanned. If you notice any information missing or wrong, feel free to edit this post but add the parts you edited(explanations to what and where) to the bottom of the post. thank you!

Here are the results!!

important notice: the names in the middle grey box columns are NOT High D, I, S or C. They are actually the low in whichever group they are in ...

High,
D's
ORGANISERs - DanLo, Jason, Nicholas

I's
AFFILIATOR - Melissa Kok
MOTIVATOR - Stephanie
PERSUADERs - Alex, Jolin

S's
INVESTIGATORs - Rachel Ng, Tzyy Jeng
SPECIALISTs - Suresh, Adrian, Nick Lee
ADVISOR - Mel Wong

C's
PERFECTIONIST - Isaiah
CREATOR - Jonathan

Low,
D's
COOPERATORs - Elisha, Gwen

I
STRATEGIST - Mitch

S
WHIRLWIND - Merlvyn

C's
INDIVIDUALISTs - Hanrick, Weng Hong, Millie, Wen-Ly

Now that you've identified them, how do you treat them ...?

COMMUNICATION WITH DISC people!

WHAT STYLES CAN YOU FIND IN A PERSON WITH D/I/S/C TRAIT?

AND NOW!! The MOST important of all important parts! The part you have been waiting for ... Relationships between the D-I-S-C people!!

What does the table mean? You might ask.
Example,
S - S is excellent,
C - I is poor.

Although C - D is poor, it does not mean they are bad together, it just means they have to work harder to make the relationship go smoothly compared to D - D.

Example,
Tzyy Jeng(S) and Mel(S) will probably have less problems and conflicts to click together in a relationship.
While Jonathan(C) and Stephanie(I) will probably find themselves harder to click together.

However, it will still work out if Jon and Steph grow to understand each other more. They just have to work harder compared to Tzyy Jeng and Mel.

Understand!??! XD

The next is Task compatibility which means who you'll be easier to work along with to achieve results =p Same explanation as that for relationships =)

Hope you had a great time reading this =D Have fun!!!

A penny

(from an email ...)

Several years ago, a friend of mine and her husband were invited to spend the weekend at the home of her husband's employer.
My friend, Arlene, was nervous about the weekend. The boss was very wealthy, with a fine home on the waterway, and cars costing more than her house..

The first day and evening went well, and Arlene was delighted to have this rare glimpse into how the very wealthy live. Her husband's employer was quite generous as a host, and took them to the finest restaurants. Arlene knew she would never have the opportunity to indulge in this kind of extravagance again, so was enjoying herself immensely.

As the three of them were about to enter an exclusive restaurant one evening, the boss was walking slightly ahead of Arlene and her husband.
He stopped suddenly, looking down on the pavement for a long, silent moment.
Arlene wondered if she was supposed to pass him. There was nothing on the ground except a single darkened penny that someone had dropped, and a few cigarette butts. Still silent, the man reached down and picked up the penny.
He held it up and smiled, then put it in his pocket as if he had found a great treasure.
How absurd! What need did this man have for a single penny? Why would he even take the time to stop and pick it up?

Throughout dinner, the entire scene nagged at her. Finally, she could stand it no longer. She casually mentioned that her daughter once had a coin collection, and asked if the penny he had found had been of some value.

A smile crept across the man's face as he reached into his pocket for the penny and held it out for her to see. She had seen many pennies before! What was the point of this?

"Look at it," he said. "Read what it says."
She read the words, " United States of America .."

"No, not that. Read further."

"One cent?"
"No, keep reading."

"In God we Trust?"
"Yes!"
"And?. . ."

"And if I trust in God, the name of God is holy, even on a coin. Whenever I find a coin, I see that inscription. It is written on every single United States coin, but we never seem to notice it! God drops a message right in front of me telling me to trust Him. Who am I to pass it by? When I see a coin, I pray. I stop to see if my trust IS in God at that moment. I pick the coin up as a response to God; that I do trust in Him. For a short time, at least, I cherish it as if it were gold. I think it is God's way of starting a conversation with me. Lucky for me, God is patient and pennies are plentiful!"

When I was out shopping today, I found a penny on the sidewalk. I stopped and picked it up, and realized that I had been worrying and fretting in my mind about things I cannot change. I read the words, "In God We Trust," and had to laugh. "Yes, God, I get the message!"

It seems that I have been finding an inordinate number of pennies in the last few months, but then, pennies are plentiful! And, God is patient.

Thought for the Day:

If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it.

If He had a wallet, your photo would be in it.

He sends you flowers every spring.

He sends you a sunrise every morning.
Face it, friend - He is crazy about you!

Send this to every beautiful person you wish to bless.

God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way.

Read this line very slowly and let it sink in.

If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.
